EXCELLENT Based on 4 reviews Sakir Hussain2025-09-23Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nita tutored our son from Year 4 up to his 11+ exams and was absolutely brilliant throughout. She is patient, enthusiastic, and very well prepared, with structured lessons that kept him engaged and motivated. Her welcoming and encouraging approach meant he was always happy to attend and left every session positive and confident. We’re so grateful for her support and couldn’t recommend her more highly. Nish Patel2025-09-22Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My son attended online English/VR classes with Nita in Year 5, and I honestly cannot recommend her highly enough. The way she held every child’s attention throughout the lessons and delivered each class with such energy and enthusiasm was truly impressive. The children seemed genuinely happy to be there, eager to learn—and I believe that was largely down to Nita’s infectious energy, her clear and organised approach, and the way she made even tricky topics accessible. She shared invaluable tips and strategies that helped the children tackle 11+ questions with confidence. I often found myself wishing I’d had a teacher like Nita when I was younger. Her fun, engaging style doesn’t just make learning enjoyable—it makes a lasting difference in a child’s ability. She consistently went the extra mile for her students, from running fun competitions to hosting drop-in sessions where they could ask about anything they were struggling with. On top of that, her tailored progress tracking gave parents a clear picture of where their child was excelling and where they needed extra support. Nita is approachable, friendly, and genuinely cares about every one of her students. If you want your child not only to improve and learn but to actually enjoy the process, I cannot recommend Nita’s classes highly enough. natasha m monjeco2025-09-22Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’m Nita, the founder of Maven Tutors and an 11+ English specialist with over 20 years of experience teaching in UK state and independent schools. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping children fall in love with reading, express themselves clearly and find their own voice. These essential skills not only prepare students for the 11+ exam but stay with them as they navigate an ever-changing world.
At Maven Tutors, our approach is fun, thorough and full of encouragement. We don’t believe in cramming. Instead, we prioritise building confidence, closing gaps and helping students shine in their 11+ exams by first making sure they enjoy the journey. Our mastery approach gives students the knowledge and skills to feel proud of their progress and prepared for highly competitive schools. Even after all this time, there’s something incredibly special about seeing those first-day photos of our students stepping into their top-choice grammar or independent schools, ready to start their next adventure!
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me curled up with a book, wandering through nature or at a dance fitness class, trying to keep up with the instructor!
I am a fully qualified teacher/ tutor with over ten years of experience, teaching from Primary to GCSEs. I have lots of SEND experience and home-schooling experience. I specialise in teaching Maths and English (Language and Literature).
I tailor all of my tutoring sessions to each individual pupil’s needs. I aim to provide a positive learning experience, developing confidence, knowledge and independence. I ensure all of my sessions are engaging, allowing lots of opportunities for questioning and to ‘have a go’. I deal with any gaps in learning and any misconceptions, along with providing challenge. I provide engagement and progression through tailored sessions, challenge, questioning and lots of discussion.
I tutor and enjoy tutoring because I believe all children have the ability to learn and have the right to enjoy learning. This is why the most enjoyable part of teaching is sharing the positive experience with pupils of their journey. From them not having any self-confidence or self-belief to having full confidence in their own knowledge, ability and skills.
I have been a teacher for over 13 years now, working mainly across key stage two in both state and independent schools. In the last few years, my focus has been on teaching the core subjects and I am currently working with Year 6. When teaching English, I particularly like working with children to develop their creative and descriptive writing skills, as well as writing poetry. Maths was a subject that I felt less confident in when I was at school, so I am passionate about helping children to develop not only their mathematical knowledge and understanding, but also their confidence using the methods they have been taught. I really enjoy teaching Science and, as head of the subject in my current school, I love seeing children participating in experiments that create moments of awe and wonder.
I think the best thing about tutoring is being able to support children individually or in a small group, in order to overcome a difficulty or challenge. When they feel a sense of achievement and increased confidence this is very rewarding.
Outside of work, my favourite hobby is horse riding and I like to explore the countryside with my horse at the weekend, when I can find the time! I also love to travel and have been fortunate enough to visit many different countries, including a more extended period of travel around South-East Asia. I now have two young children of my own so I appreciate the juggle of working parents who face the challenges of trying to balance work and family life!
I’m a fully qualified Scottish primary school teacher with five years of classroom experience, as well as two years of online teaching. My strengths lie in building positive relationships with my pupils — I believe learning should be fun, and that children are most motivated when they’re enjoying themselves!
I create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all my learners, and I’m passionate about helping children succeed and grow in confidence through positive, engaging experiences.
